Summary:
Position: Intern (Analyst)
Reports to: Program Officer
Dates: Mid September2019 - February 2019
Location: Niamey, Niger
The Analyst assists the Managing Director with varied tasks related to program development and implementation of the GeoAnalytic Center’s activities in the Sahel. He/she also fulfills administrative duties while maintaining a high standard of professionalism, efficiency, personal communication, discretion, and independent judgment.
Essential Job Functions:
Program related
-
actively seeks funding opportunities and develops relationships with funders and develops proposals;
-
supports implementation efforts;
-
provides reviews on updated published research on the Sahel, CVE and technology to the GeoA team;
-
drafts program reports;
-
updates the Program Officer on a weekly basis; and
-
other tasks as assigned by the Managing Director.
Administration related
-
Performs a wide range of administrative as well as general support duties of a highly responsible and confidential nature;

establishes, manages and maintains an effective file and data system;
-
coordinates calendar and appointments and organizes business meetings in a variety of venues; and
-
researches, prepares, and edits presentations and special projects as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
-
Completed or completing studies in international relations, communication engineering or other tech related fields;

professional working ability in both French and English;

desired knowledge of statistical software;

excellent written and verbal communication skills;

excellent visual attention to detail;
-
proven ability to learn quickly and to proactively adapt to a complex field environment;

have a high priority of attention to detail and organization;

demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and in coordination with others, and

an ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
